About SOLERA

More than a name

Your rooms are full. Your tables are booked. And still, the month finishes tighter than it should.

Most of it is invisible — commissions, drop-offs, and guests who searched your name but booked somewhere else. That’s the gap SOLERA is built to close.

We work with independent hotels and restaurants across Spain — Madrid, Barcelona, and Málaga and Marbella on the Costa del Sol; Tenerife and Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands; Mallorca and Ibiza in the Balearic Islands.

Meet Maria Manica, the founder

Maria didn’t come to hospitality from hospitality. She came to it from the boardrooms where the same problem plays out on a much bigger scale.

She started in digital marketing in 2016 — building brands, managing social channels, running campaigns and market research across sectors. After her MBA, she stepped into enterprise software sales, working with organizations across every industry, including the Belgian public sector, on their digital transformation projects.

At Software AG and then Microsoft, she sat across the table from large companies trying to turn expensive technology into business impact. One lesson kept surfacing. The technology was rarely the biggest problem. The friction lived in the everyday broken processes, the handoffs between teams, adoption, and the gaps nobody was measuring.

She also saw something else. If gaining digital maturity was hard for companies with entire departments and deep budgets, it was near impossible for the small and independent businesses that had neither. They were getting left behind — not because they lacked budgets, but because they lacked the time and the guide.

The method

Why we’re different: the SOLERA Method

We don’t start with advice. We start with a map. The SOLERA Method traces the full guest journey — from the first search to the return visit — and puts a real euro figure on every gap along the way.

  1. 01

    Map the journey

From first search, through booking and arrival, to post-visit re-engagement — every step where friction can cost you the booking.

  2. 02

    Review the setup

Not just whether the software is installed, but whether it’s being used, and where manual workarounds are quietly doing a system’s job.

  3. 03

    Identify the gaps

What’s genuinely missing, what’s working but underused, and what’s creating friction for guests and your team alike.

  4. 04

    Quantify the gaps

A number on what each broken process is costing you. Not “something isn’t working” — 20 direct bookings a month, €8K in avoidable commission.

  5. 05

    Build the roadmap

A sequenced, phased plan with realistic timelines and the resources each stage needs, at a pace that fits your operation.

Here’s what we found, here’s what it’s worth, here’s where to start.

Proof

Proof beyond hospitality

The audit-first approach to business processes isn’t a hospitality trick. It’s how enterprise technology gets fixed.

Maria spent years at Microsoft and Software AG doing exactly this: finding where the existing processes were failing, or where the tools were serving broken processes that cost companies. The stakes were bigger. The method was the same: count first, recommend second, report on outcomes.

Independent hotels and restaurants deserve that same rigor. Most have simply never had access to it.

Free audit

Let’s find out where your money’s going

A free audit costs you nothing. But it will show you, in real euros, exactly how much is leaving through channels you haven’t fully counted yet — commissions, drop-offs, system gaps, and guests who were already searching for you by name.

Know where it’s going, before you spend another euro on marketing.
